Welcome to the new Little Acorns website Little Acorns are group of OfSTED-registered childminders based in the Calne and surrounding area. We originally formed in 2005 as a support group for childminders in the area meeting twice-monthly to provide activities for the children we look after and also to offer advice to each other. We have since expanded to meeting weekly in addition to offering a free service to parents looking for quality childcare in the area by offering dedicated points of contact from where your needs can be assessed and a selection of suitable childminders can be offered. We currently have around 20 members in the group with a wide range of services to offer, all of whom can also be contacted directly if you find one who meets your specific requirements.

Our website serves a joint purpose - it is a one-stop portal for parents who are looking for childcare in the area to get information on many of the childminders who live and work in the region with details of their daily structure, costs and vacancies. It is also an online resource for childminders within the group, those who may be considering joining the group and those who find our information useful. The childminders are includes a diary of events and Little Acorns group meeting activities in addition to resources which can be used with the children in their care. There is also a growing section on outdoor activities in the surroundings areas that they could take children to. Parents may find this information useful also. For that reason, the site is split into two areas - Parents and Childminders. Each section contains details specific to the target audience but visitors are welcome to access all areas of the site and can switch between sections by clicking on a link that will be shown at the top of each page clearly indicating which section the are currently in, and which section they can be linked to.
Little Acorns is a non-profit making organisation. We do not charge for identifying suitable childminders for your child/children and only request a small membership fee from the childminders in our group. All other monies are received through donations and commission from sales of selected goods. Once expenses are accounted for, all monies are put back into the group to improve the services and equipment on offer to the children who are being cared for by our members. |
