BBC Radio
Wiltshire
In September 2007, BBC Radio Wiltshire were running a feature
on their morning show about various jobs that people get others
to do for them. One of Little Acorns' members, Joanne
Stokes, was invited to be included on the show to discuss the
reasons why parents opt for a childminder to care for their
children and also discuss the benefits of them being cared for
by someone with the necessary qualifications rather than another
family member or friend.

The group have
an excellent reputation in the area for the quality of childcare
offered by its members and have been used by a number of sources
for information on childcare-related issues, the expectations
of childminders and for the views of some of their members.
Barnados Big Toddle
Every year, members of the group participate in the annual
Barnados Big Toddle, a way of raising money for other children
by getting children being looked after by childminders to do
a sponsored toddle around a local town park.
