Personal Details
Hi, my name is Christie Burnett. I live in the village of Lower Compton with my partner Andy and our two children Ashley who is 5 and Sam 18 months. We have a tropical fish tank which the children love to watch.

I used to be a PA and previous to that I used to work in Marketing so I am organised and am able to deal with all kinds of situations that arise.

I am Ofsted-registered and both my partner and I have been CRB checked. I am a member of the NCMA and also have my public insurance with them.  My first Ofsted inspection took place in January 2010 where I was awarded overall “good” which I am very pleased and proud of.

My childminding business is called Cheeky Chops.

Typical activities

I have transformed my good sized conservatory into a play room which offers all facilities you would expect to find within a child care setting.  Children also have the full use of all of the rooms in my house.

Whilst at Cheeky Chops, your child will immediately sense the loving home-from-home environment. I care for my own children to a very high standard and also the other children in my care. I love to get out and about as do my children so we will always try to walk wherever we go whether to school or just for an outing around the local area.

I complete a contact book for all my pre-school children where I record how much sleep, food etc. your child has consumed and a brief outline of what we have done that day. All children under 5 in my care have their own Learning Journey where I record observations, photos of your child taking part in activities and days out.

I attend Cherhill Toddler Group on Mondays and Little Acorns on Fridays. Other activities through the week include lots of walking in the fresh air, painting, making/playing with play dough, completing various activities depending on what project we are doing at the time, arts and craft, planting seeds and watching them grow in the veggie plot, general gardening, cooking to name but a few.

Training and experience

● NVQ Level 3 in Childcare, Learning and Development.
● ICP training (CACHE Level 3 certificate in Childminding practice)
● First Aid in Early Years
● Behaviour Management
● Child Protection

I have nearly completed my NVQ Level 3 course and am in the process of looking into further training. I have completed an Early Years First Aid course, Behaviour Management, Food Safety Level 3. I am always looking at ways to extend my knowledge so I take part in Wiltshire Council training courses and keeping up to date with others I feel are beneficial me and the children in my care.

Contractual Details

I work from 7:30am to 6:00pm and I take between 2 and 4 weeks holidays a year at no fee. I will always try to give as much notice as possible. Where a child is away from my setting for a holiday I will charge half fees.

I charge £3.20 per hour. I do not charge a retainer to secure your child's place through holidays but do operate term time or holiday only contracts.  TD days, sickness of parent or child are charged at full fees.

Vacancies

I drop off and collect from Cherhill Pre-School and Cherhill C of E Primary. I will also consider drop off and collection to other local schools, pre-schools and nurseries in the area.

Please contact me for my update vacancies.
